At Elly & Stoffl, the concept of the permeable learning house is at the heart of our educational work. “Permeable” is how we understand learning: open, interconnected, and flexible. All learning areas within our houses are interconnected, actively involving both the children and their environment. This way, we create a dynamic and inspiring setting that allows children to learn and grow holistically.
There’s a lot of wonder in here!
Learning in a Connected World
Our world is diverse, ever-changing, and culturally interconnected – and we prepare the children to navigate it confidently and competently. We encourage openness, intercultural competence, and a love of learning through a variety of activities in language, movement, art, technology, and in nature. What is especially important to us is that children are supported in their development in a playful and child-friendly manner.

Words & Worlds
Experiencing Linguistic and Cultural Diversity
Language is the key to the world, and at Elly & Stoffl, it is a central pillar of the learning house. Through our bilingual concept based on the immersion principle, children naturally experience both English and German in everyday life. Our English-speaking educators consistently communicate with the children in their native language, creating an intuitive learning environment through gestures, facial expressions, and daily routines.
In addition to language development, intercultural competence is important to us. We encourage children to experience cultural diversity as a way to gain insights into different ways of life through playful interactions.
Tablets & Treetops
The Balance Between Technology and Nature
In a world shaped by media and technology, we at Elly & Stoffl combine digital education with experiences in nature. With us children learn:
- how to use tablets, cameras, and other media responsibly.
- A connection to nature through forest days, exploration trips, and projects that promote environmental awareness and sustainability.
The goal is to create a balance between “Screen Time” and “Green Time.” We also use media creatively, for example, to document projects or for exciting tasks like digital treasure hunts outdoors.

Arts & Sports
Where Movement Sparks Creativity
In the permeable learning house, sports and arts are integral parts of daily life. Through artistic and sports activities, we promote the children’s motor, aesthetic, and creative development. Whether it’s making music, painting, dancing, or sports classes – the children have the opportunity play to their strengths and discover new interests.
Health & Wellbeing
Growing Up Healthy and Balanced
The wellbeing of the children is at the heart of what we do. We place great importance on healthy nutrition, regular physical activity, and the balance between action and relaxation. Children learn with us how to care for themselves, find calm, and be mindful of their bodies. From shared meals with healthy food to relaxation exercises and children’s yoga, we create an environment that supports both the physical and emotional wellbeing of the children.

Project Work
Learning Through Curiosity and Active Participation
Another core element of our learning house is project work. Working together, children and teachers are actively involved in the planning and implementation of activities which spark curiosity and promote learning method skills. Children learn how to find, organize, and apply knowledge independently, an important skill for their future academic and personal development.
An Open Learning World for Your Child
The permeable learning house at Elly & Stoffl offers children a diverse environment that inspires, challenges, and supports them. Here, language, nature, technology, creativity, and movement are interconnected – a learning world as open as the children who explore it.
With Elly & Stoffl, your child experiences an educational environment that fosters a love of learning, openness, and curiosity – every day!
